Education
Hilda has studied with Peruvian pastel artist Teresa Suarez-Vertiz. She has also studied with painter and sculptor Marcia Cummings of Ventura and the late Glen Orbik.

In 2017 her triptych painting "Sunrise in Ventura" was selected by the City of Ventura Mayor Erik Nasarenko for his State of the City address invitation and collateral material.
In 2016 she became a Public Art Commissioner for the City of Ventura.
Artist Hilda Freyre was a board member for six years at the Buenaventura Art Association.
In 2009 Freyre’s painting was on the cover of the July/August 2009 issue of SkyWest Magazine (United Express).
Hilda is a recipient of the 2007-2008 Artist Fellowship Grant from the City of Ventura and she has shown her paintings at the City of Ventura Mayor’s office.
In 2005 and 2007 and 2012 Freyre was chosen to paint a piece for the Ventura Music Festival’s annual fundraiser.
Hilda is a member of SLOPE (San Luis Obispo Painters for the Environment.)
Hilda Freyre’s paintings are in many private collections around the world. Her style, enhanced by her experiences and extensive travel throughout Europe and South America, reflects what she feels inside her heart… that life should be lived as an adventure
